Stockholm 2016: EuroClub hosts revealed!

The City of Stockholm and SVT have revealed the names of the hosts of the 2016 EuroClub.

The Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm next May is gearing up to be both very exciting and promising, with lots of surprises in store for you! Both the Swedish national broadcaster and the City of Stockholm are working round the clock in order to showcase an extraordinary event come May.

Jenny ”Velvet” Pettersson and Shirley Clamp will  host the events during the Eurovision weeks in Stockholm at the Euroclub in the run up to the big event.

Every night between 2 and 14 May, Velvet & Clamp will welcome artists, delegations and fans. They will be joined by several notable guests, all known from the Melodifestivalen and the Eurovision Song Contest.

Jenny ‘Velvet’ Petterson is very proud and excited:

We are incredibly proud and excited to be the Euroclub Hostesses during Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm. We are going to make sure that the EuroClub delivers on a high level and that it will bethe best-ever celebration. We will be offering several shows, not only with me and Shirley but also with various guests. The details will be revealed later, but we promise it will be great.

Shirley Clamp has a long history of participating in the Swedish Melodifestivalen with songs like Mr Memory (2003), Min Kärlek (2004) and Att älska dig (2005) and Med hjärtat fyllt av ljus(2009), I thought it was forever (2011) and Burning Alive(2014). She was one of the commentators during Eurovision Song Contest 2009.

Jenny Velvet Pettersson has been singing with artists like Carola Häggkvist, Lena Philipsson, E-type and Darin and has an international career with songs like Fix me and Chemistry which have reached the top of the charts in Europe. She is also a frequent Melodifestivalen artist having participated with Me Amore (2006), Déjà Vu (2008) and The Queen (2009).

The 2016 Euroclub and the Eurofan Fan Café will be both under the same roof and will be located on the wharf just outside the Royal Palace in Stockholm. A special purpose-built venue will be erected on the waterfront adjacent to the Royal Palace.

Stockholm is getting dressed up for the ocassion and is all set to make the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest a memorable one!

  • EuroClub and Euro Fan Café will be open from 2 to 14 May.
  • EuroClub access is included in the accreditation of journalists, artists and delegations.
  • 3,000 Fans-accreditations valid for EuroClub and Euro Fan Café will be given to OGAE-members.

The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 10, 12 and 14 May at the Globe Arena in Stockholm.
