No more rumours: The Croatian broadcaster HRT has internally selected the winner of the first season of The Voice – Croatia’s most beautiful voice, Nina Kraljić, to represent the country after two year absence from the contest. Her entry will be revealed on 9 March.

Nina is currently one of the most pouplar artists in Croatia, winning The Voice with more than a million votes, nominated to the Porin Award (in Best Female Vocal Performance and New Artist of The Year categories) and now representing Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Nina was born at the Lipovljani municipality in Croatia but currently lives in Rijeka. In 2010, she participated in the Supertalent Nova TV Competition and finished on the 10th place. Later on, she enrolled to the Music Academy of Croatia and tried her luck in various projects, but the biggest recognition came when she won The Voice under the supervision of her mentor Jacques Houdek. Together with Jaques, she performed the winning song of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest, Euphoria, during the finals of the show.

After winning The Voice, Nina has signed a contract with Universal Music, who are extremely proud and happy to send Nina to the Eurovision Song Contest. “Nina has already won the hearts of the people in The Voice and we believe that her extraordinary voice and performance will impress Europe. Our exeprienced team, along with HRT and Nina herself, chose a song that we believe will leave a good impression among the Eurovision audience”, said Nina Meden, marketing manager at Universal Music Croatia.

Nina will also release her debut album in connection to the Eurovision participation. The album will include her first single Zaljuljali smo svijet along with the Eurovision entry that will be revealed on 9 March. “The song remains a surprise”, says Nina. “It will certainly be in my style, combined with a modern twist.”
