The Italian Eurovision representatives at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, Il Volo, have recently spoken about their participation in the competition, expressing their slight disappointment at the final results.

Speaking in an interview with Panorama, the Italian trio consisting of members Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble spoke of their success since the formation of Il Volo along with their future dreams and goals.

Talking of their early success in the USA, Ignazio said:

In America, 2 of our albums reached in the top 5 of the charts, ranking first in the classical charts and at the top of the pop charts[…]We received a tweet from Britney Spears, I gave a high-five to Steve Tyler and Lady Gaga took a selfie with us and filled us with compliments.

The trio then went on to discuss their success since the release of Grande amore, which went on to become Italy’s official Eurovision entry at the 2015 edition of the competition in Vienna. Gianluca revealed:

We could not imagine a year or two ago that one day we would fill an arena. Grande amore has changed our lives and has given us the opportunity to create a repertoire and gain many fans.

Going on to discuss their Eurovision participation, Piero went on to discuss the band’s disappointment at the final result of the competition.

It was a slight disappointment. We were first in the televoting, but we didn’t win with the jury and there is anger. How do we go back?

Going on to discuss their future and goals, Il Volo went on to reveal that winning a Grammy in the distant future would be the highlight of their career.

Next year Il Volo are set to embark on a worldwide tour, visiting a number of countries in both North America and Europe. Further details including ticket costs and locations can be found via the official Il Volo website.
