The Swedish Diggiloo tour has commenced around Sweden and this year we see a host of Melodifestivalen and Eurovision performers participating including two former winners.
The summer season in Sweden sees the start of a season of tours and television shows which features the best Swedish chart and schalger talent on offer
One of the main summer tours is Diggiloo. This season sees a strong Melodifestivalen and Eurovision line up which includes former Eurovision winners Charlotte Perrelli and Helena Paparizou who recently competed in Melodifestivalen last year with her entry Survivor. Other past Melodifestivalen participants include Jessica Andersson (winner as part of Fame in 2003), Hanna Hedlund, Andreas Johnsson, Magnus Carlsson and Martin Stenmarck (winner in 2005 with Las Vegas). They all perform with a live band either solo or in duo’s or groups culminating in an encore featuring all the performers on stage at the end of the show.

The story so far
Sweden has won the Eurovision Song Contest on 6 occasions. The first time was with the legendary Abba back in 74. Past winners have included Herreys, Carola, Charlotte (Nillson) Perrelli and more recently Loreen in 2012. They achieved a very respectable 3rd place last year with Sanna Nielsen and her entry Undo. Mans Zelmerlow claimed the grand prix for a sixth time for Sweden in May at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest held in Vienna with his entry Heroes.
