Romania’s 2015 Eurovision Song Contest representatives Voltaj have filmed their promotional postcard for the Vienna extravaganza!

The postcard was conducted in two stages, with one stage in Romania’s capital city Bucharest and the second stage in Vienna. Viewers all over the world will see Voltaj take to the racecourse, with the subtext that the pop-rock band, who can boast of an impressive 20+ year career in their home country, will be “riding high” at Eurovision!

Voltaj, who secured the golden ticket to Vienna after winning Selecţia Naţională in March will perform their entry De La Capat/All Over Again at the first semi-final on Tuesday 19 May, where they will seek to qualify to the Grand Final from 15th position in the running order.  The song tells of children who are left behind as their parents leave Romania for employment, and last year Voltaj (which translates as “Voltage”) started a campaign www.delecapat.ro (alloveragain) supporting those children.

The band – Călin Goia (vocals), Oliver Sterian (drums), Valeriu Ionescu (Bass), Gabi Constantin (guitar) and Adrian Cristescu (keyboards) – is connected with other majors in non-profit child protection organisations such as Habitat for Humanity and Unitedway.

Romania debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest of 1994, and have never missed Grand Final qualification in 16 appearances. The country’s best results to date have come from 3rd place finishes in 2005 (Luminița Anghel and Sistem, Let Me Try) and 2010 (Paula Seling and Ovi, Playing With Fire).

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest takes place at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria, on 19, 21 and 23 May.
