Daniel Popović, the Yugoslavian representative in the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest in Munich in Germany, who placed 4th with Džuli, has published a new single 30 years after the contest.

He was one of the most popular singers in Yugoslavia and performed in concerts in all six republics that were part of it  (Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia&Herzegovina, Macedonia and Slovenia). He was born in Titograd  (now renamed Podgorica) in current day Montenegro in 1955. He won the Yugoslavian national final in 1983 as a representative for Croatia, TV Zagreb.

Džuli became one of the biggest hits to ever come from Yugoslavia and was a hit around Europe as well.

Yugoslavia’s best positions at the Eurovision Song Contest were 4th three times (1962, 1983 and 1987) and the country won in 1990 with Rock me. The last entry from Yugoslavia was in the 1992 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö.
