The broadcast of the 2007 Junior Eurovision Song Contest was wactched by an average of one million viewers in Portugal making it the most watched show on the public broadcaster and the third most watched on Portuguese television.

The exact figures show thatan average1,090,000 viewers watched the show. RTPhead of delegation, José Poiares, is pleased with the results and does not discard for now the participation of Portugal in next year's edition. These results were a clear improvementin comparision to the national final, broadcastedon 5th October, which didn't make the top 15 on the TVratings list.

It seems that Eurovision is still generating interest among the PortugueseTV viewers. On the other hand, results don't seem to match the ratings. Jorge Leiria reached 16th place with the song Eu só quero é cantar in Rotterdam out of 17 participants.
