A press conference was held on 13 January to provide with more details about the event.

From the Teatro dell’Opera del Casinò di Sanremo, the 65th Festival della Canzone Italiana Sanremo was presented during a press conference attended by representatives of the Casinò and the Sanremo city council, the mayor Alberto Bianchetti among them, together with the hosts of the event and members of the organization.

Giancarlo Leone, the director of the Italian broadcaster RAI 1 TV, announced that the hosts of the competition, previous winners of the Festival Arisa and Emma Marrone, will be joined by the Italian television presenter Carlo Conti. The latter took some time to explain the spirit of this year’s contest, which is driven by a special meaning of success for the participating entries. A song becomes successful when it becomes popular, when the tune belongs to everyone; somehow a song of public dominion, with notes and words that everyone knows and that everyone can sing. From this spirits stems the slogan of the 2015 Sanremo Music Festival: Tutti cantano Sanremo; everybody sings Sanremo, as a reminder that many of the songs that have featured in the past history of the event have actually turned into part of the Italian culture.

The slogan will be promoted and illustrated by three TV-spots showing people in common places and ordinary situations singing fragments of famous previous entries from the Sanremo Festival: Laura Pausini’s La solitudine in an Italian piazza; shoppers in an supermarket singing Perdere l’amore, by Massimo Rainieri; and Nicola di Bari’s Che sarà performed by the visitors of a museum.

The artists competing in the Festival will defend their own entries, but in the gala on Thursday 12 February each one will perform a cover of previous Sanremo entries. The best cover will receive a trophy in the shape of a flower especially prepared for the occasion (Sanremo is known as La città dei fiori, the city of the flowers).

The presenters Carlo Conti, Emma Marrone and Arisa have commanded themselves to enjoy the experience as hosts of the Sanremo Music Festival and to have fun.

Carlo praised the potential as presenters of his co-hosts (it is the first time for both of them). He regards Arisa as the incarnation of fineness; when it comes to Emma, he is convinced that she represents the might.

It was also announced that the Spanish model Rocío Muñoz Morales would be the third valletta of the 2015 Sanremo Music Festival, with Emma and Arisa.

When talking about their wishes and expectations for this first Arisa and Emma took the word to say that they are honored and happy to be presenting the most renowned festival in Italy. For both the first time hosting an event of this kind, they eagerly expressed how much they are hoping not to fall down the stairs

Among other technical details, the design and looks of the stage that the artists will be standing on was presented. The design is based on the shape a flower calix, bringing back the flower theme in the città dei fiori. The decoration and the setting were said to have attained the transformation of the classical ambiance of the venue into a warmer scene, with a smoother transition between the stage and the audience.

The events going on in the Sala Classica of the Casinò after the galas of the Festival will be streamed through the event’s website. Radio 2 will be the official radio station of the festival.

The presence of foreign artists was announced,. The band Imagine Dragons was confirmed by Carlo Conti to be featuring in Sanremo for the occasion.

The major music event in Italy is drawing closer and all the details are fixed and ready. Actually, it was mentioned that, except for the artists (not gathered yet) everything is so well prepared that the Festival could have begun the day after the press conference.

Set yourself to enjoy a parade of music idols in the Festival that inspired the Eurovision Song Contest.

The winner of the 2015 Sanremo Song Festival- Campioni category will be eligible to represent Italy at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna.
