Always was Azerbaijan’s Eurovision Song Contest entry of 2009, performed by Arash and the young Azerbaijani vocalist Aysel Teymurdazeh (known as AySel).  Always was Azerbaijan’s second ever entry into Eurovision, following from Elnur and Samir’s debut with Day after day in 2008, and the song easily qualified for the Grand Final of the Moscow-hosted contest, finishing in second place of the second semi-final with a total of 180 points.  AySel and Arash went on to accomplish third place in the Grand Final, finishing behind Norway’s Alexander Rybak and Iceland’s Yohanna, with 207 points securing them what was then a best ever result for Azerbaijan.  The song would also become a big hit in a number of European countries in the summer of that year.
