Malta: PBS confirms participation in Eurovision 2014

PBS, the Maltese national broadcaster has confirmed to esctoday.com that Malta will participate at the forthcoming  2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Denmark. The method and mechanism used to select the 2014 Maltese entry will be the same as every year the Malta Song for Europe national selection. More details will be released in due course.

Gianluca Bezzina represented Malta at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest  in Malmo with his entry Tomorrow, bringing back Malta into the Top 10 yet again, achieving an honorable 8th place in the final.

Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Albania, Iceland, Ireland, San Marino, Georgia , Switzerland , The Netherlands, Estonia and Belgium have all confirmed their participation at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest next year in Denmark. Whilst Belarus has said they will most likely be in the competition next year.

Malta debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1971 and is yet to win the event. The beautiful Mediterranean island’s best placing at the Eurovision Song Contest has been in 2003 with Ira Losco  and in 2005 with Chiara. Malta has not missed a single contest since its return in 1991.
