In 2013 a total of 39 countries participated at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden. Much to the fans dismay Turkey, Bosnia Herzegovina, Portugal and Slovakia opted to withdraw from the competition in 2013.
A total of 10 countries have been absent at the Eurovision Song Contest in the last years: Morocco (last seen in 1980), Monaco (last seen in 2006), Bosnia Herzegovina (last seen 2012), Luxembourg (last seen 1993), Poland (last seen in 2011), Portugal (last seen in 2012), Slovakia (last seen in 2012), Turkey (last seen in 2012), Czech Republic (last seen in 2009), Andorra (last seen in 2009).
Morocco, Monaco, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Andorra have informed esctoday.com that they will not participate at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. Hence Bosnia Herzegovina, Turkey, Poland and Portugal are yet to decide if they will come back to the contest next year!
