Croatia held Hrvatski izbor za Dječju pjesmu Eurovizije tonight, the Croatian national selection for the 2005 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The final was won by Lorena Jelusic, sister of 2003 Junior Eurovision Song Contest winner Dino Jelusic, with the song Rock baby. Lorena succeeds Nika Turkovic who finished third for Croatia at last year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Lillehammer.

Nika Turkovic opened the show with the song Hey little boy, the English version of last year's Croatian Junior Eurovision Song Contest entry Hej mali. Thereupon the hosts Iva ulentić and Robert Boković introduced the HRT1 viewers to the ten finalists.

Kristina Jaric and Filip Ratkovic participated in last year's Croatian selections and tried their luck for the second time. Lorena Jelusic probably got some good advice from her brother Dino, who won the national final in 2003.

Interval act
Vanna, who finished tenth at the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Strings of my heart, performed last year's Croatian entry Hej mali in duet with Nika Turkovic.
