Malta: 16 acts proceed to the final

The Maltese Eurovision Song Contest semi final has just ended and sixteen songs have proceeded to the Grand Final taking place on Saturday 2 February.

The marathon Maltese semi final has just ended. Twenty four acts competed and the combined vote of the multinational jury and the public sent sixteen of them to the country’s final which will take place today, Saturday 2 February.

The sixteen qualifiers are:

Davinia – Betrayed
Deborah C – Love-O-Holic
Chris Grech – Never walk away
Gianni Zammit – Us against the world
Janice Debattista – Perfect day
Jessika – Ultraviolet
Domenique – Too little too late
Dorothy Bezzina – Starting from the end
Petra & Richard – Wonderful today
Gianluca Bezzina – Tomorrow
Richard Edwards – Fall like Rome
Kevin Borg – Needing you
Scar – Superstar
Corazon – My stranger love
Claudia Faniello – When it’s time
Amber – In control

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications.
