The Maltese national broadcaster have just announced in the 18:00 news bulletin that tomorrow it will reveal the songs that made it to the second phase of the Maltese selection. The short list of songs will be revealed at noon (CET) on PBS website. 68 songs will make it through and stay in contention to reach the final of the selection to take place at the end of January.

Last month a total of 182 songs were submitted for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2013. Amongst the artists who submitted a song there are Ludwig Galea (2004), Fabrizio Faniello (2006) and Kevin Borg (winner of Swedish Idol 2008).

The songs submitted were judged on CD by a panel of jury and 68 entries qualified to the second phase. These entries will be known tomorrow. 24 songs will qualify to the semi-final show expected to take place on the eve of the final show. 16 entries will compete in the final where the Maltese hopeful will get selected through a mixture of jury and public vote.

The 24 semi-finalists will be revealed in a television show on 30th November. Malta came close three times in winning the Eurovision Song Contest and this year Kurt Calleja managed to qualify to the final but couldn’t finish better than 21st in the final in Baku.
