Eurovision Song Contest has fans far outside actual Europe. Even if the contest is not very well known in the United States of America, two brave fans have taken on the task of introducing Eurovision to the New York club scene.

Europhoria is the monthly club night dedicated to the Eurovision Song Contest and it kicks off on Monday 10 December at the Hardware Bar in Manhattan at 7 pm local time. Thereafter it will run on every second Monday of each month.

The Israeli promoters Gilad Mandelboim and Itai Eithan Shamir have teamed up with the Hardware bar and are using the slogan “It’s not gay, it’s European” echoing the old American stereotypes of Europeans.

Visitors to the first night have a chance to win a return trip to Israel, see the party’s Facebook page for details
