DJ Mendez and the Brandsta City Släckers won the first heat of the Swedish Melodifestivalen in Växjö. Both will go on to the big final next month in Stockholm (Globen Arena).
Barbados ended up third, Excellence fourth. They have still the chance to get a wildcard for the big final in Stockholm.
Many fans were disappointed because of the results. Most of them wanted Barbados to win, but the big public decided something else. Also the announced webcast failed due to technical trouble. Unless the disappointment, many listened to the songs for the Estonian final, Eurolaul 2002.
