Spain: Blas Cantó asks fans to help him choose Eurovision entry

Following the official announcement unveiling the 2020 Eurovision hopeful, Blas Cantó, now all eyes seem to be set on the 2020  Spainish Eurovision entry.

Blas Cantó’s election has sent the Spanish fans and media into a frenzy with most leading newspapers, magazines and web portals in Spain devoting much coverage and exposure to the upcoming Spanish Eurovision candidate.

There is a lot excitement both amongst Spanish Eurovision fans and Blas’ fans, who are all awaiting to hear the 2020 Spanish Eurovision entry. The dye is not caste yet as we have to wait a little longer to hear the song.

The Spanish broadcaster is now working on choosing the 2020 Spanish Eurovision entry along with Blas and his team.

TVE plans to select the 2020 Spanish ESC song by December and release it by early 2020 according to the Spanish media reports.

Blas Cantó is no new face in the Eurovision world as he has tried to represent Spain both at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 and at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 as part of the boyband Auryn.

It has been a long lasting dream for Blas to defend the Spanish colours at the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2011 hea nearly accomplished his dream when Auryn came 2nd at the Spanish national final.

The 27 year artist is amongst the most sought after singers in Spain today having gained much name, fame and recognition amongst the younger audience. He has released 5 albums so far ( 4 with Auryn and 1 solo). He released his debut album Complicado last year, with one of its songs  ‘El No Soy Yo’ becoming a massive hit in Spain.

Spain in Eurovision

Spain debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961 and has won the competition twice, with Massiel (1968) and Salome (1969).

The Iberian nation has partaken 59 times in our beloved competition and has been religiously competing in the contest every year since its debut.

2020 will see Spain’s 60th Eurovision participation, with Blas Cantó flying the Spanish flag in Rotterdam.

The 2020 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 10, 12 and 14 May at the Rotterdam Ahoy in Rotterdam.
