Rehearsals are now well and truly underway in the city of Tel Aviv, which will be hosting this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Today sees the third day of rehearsals, with the first half of the second semi-final evening taking to the impressive stage of Expo Tel Aviv.
Nine countries are all set to make their debut onstage, 10 days before their live performance at the second semi-final. Following their rehearsal, a Meet & Greet session will be coming next. These countries are Armenia, Ireland, Moldova, Switzerland, Latvia, Romania, Denmark, Sweden and Austria.
And after Moldova, let’s now move on to their neighbours in Romania! The nation is being represented by the winner of their national selection event, Ester Peony. Will she be leaving Tel Aviv… On a Sunday after the Grand Final?
Ester from Romania combines masculine and feminine in her on-stage look. She wears a longer-length black blazer, embellished with black sequins and beads. Under the jacket, she wears a white shirt with a large collar, and a black, opaque, full-length peasant-inspired skirt.
This look seems a bit disjointed, but the artists may yet present a different outfit during their next rehearsal. Her male dancers are wearing renaissance-style neck ruffs, with waistcoats with an open back. On the backs, you can see black harnesses, of which Hatari would be proud!
