Shalom Israel! The hosting country waited until the very last day to publish their act. Kobi will perform Home on stage in Tel Aviv. Are you ready?

The next Eurovision venue isn’t the only reason to talk about Israel this season. The hosting country has also been gearing up for their own representative.

Never change a winning strategy

Like the past five years, Israeli broadcaster KAN organised a televised national selection. The Next Star lasted four months, from November to February, and eventually crowned Kobi Marimi during the final on 12 February.

Just a week later KAN announced the title of the Israeli entry: Home. Eurofans could discover a teaser of the song just a couple of days ago. At the same time we all discovered that Home is a power ballad which has been written and composed by Ohad Shragai and Inbar Weitzman.

Now the wait is over! The full version of Home was finally published today, here it is:

Israel in Eurovision

Winner of the last Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal, Israel is automatically qualified for the Grand Final on home soil in Tel Aviv on 18 May.

Before 2018, Israel triumphed in 1978, 1979 and 1998 and is therefore the sixth most successful country in Eurovision history with four victories. With Kobi Israel will take part to the Grand Final for the fifth year in a row.
