Introducing the seventh entry of the season: SuRie has won the British national final, Eurovision: You Decide, and will represent the United Kingdom at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest with the entry Storm.
This evening saw the third annual Eurovision: You Decide show taking place in the United Kingdom, in which a total of 6 artists competed for the right to represent the nation at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.
Hosted at its new home, the Brighton Dome, both the viewers and the jury were able to decide tonight’s national final winner, who will go on to compete in the grand final of Eurovision 2018 this coming May in Lisbon.
SuRie wins Eurovision: You Decide
Tonight’s national final winner was determined via a combined public and jury vote, each of whom had a 50% in the final outcome of the contest.
A panel also featured in the show and consisted of a total of 3 members: Rochelle Humes (The Saturdays member), Tom Fletcher (McFly and McBusted member) and Rylan (X Factor 2012 contestant and television presenter).
Following a combined vote, presenters Mel Giedroyc and Måns Zelmerlöw revealed that SuRie had received the highest number of votes of the evening, therefore earning the wanted Eurovision right at the 2018 competition.
SuRie will compete in the grand final of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest for the United Kingdom, taking place on the 12 May in the host city of Lisbon.
