Harel Skaat at Eurovision

In December 2009, the former Israeli national broadcaster IBA announced that singer Harel Skaat was all set to compete in the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2010, to be held in Oslo, Norway.

Harel would perform a total of 4 entries at the Israeli national final Kdam Eurovision and the winning one would be determined by both televoting and 5-jury groups. At the end of the show, it was announced that the song Milim (Words) would be flying with him to Oslo.

Harel performed in the 2nd semi-final and progressed to the final. However, the results saw a huge disagreement between televoting and national juries, as the first awarded Israel a 19th place with 27 points and the second a 5th place with 134 points. Eventually, he finished 14th with 71 points.
