SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster will be holding a press conference today in Stockholm in order to officially reveal the 2018 Melodifestivalen participants.

Sweden is gearing up for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest and preparations for Melodifestivalen 2018 are in full swing. The Swedish broadcaster will be disclosing the names of the 2018 Melodifestivalen participants today, Tuesday 28 November, during a press conference, scheduled to be held at 09:30 CET.

The Swedes will select their Eurovision act and entry for Lisbon on Saturday 10 March, 2018.

Sweden in Eurovision

Sweden is one of the most successful countries in the Eurovision Song Contest and has won the competition 6 times: 1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012 and 2015. The Nordic country has hosted the competition 6 times too: Stockholm (1975, 2000 and 2016), Malmö (1992 and 2013) and Gothenburg (1985).

The Scandinavian nation has achieved 6 Top 5 finishes in the Eurovision Song Contest in the last decade, including 2 victories in 2013 and 2015.

In 2017, Robin Bengtsson flew to Kyiv with his Eurovision entry I can’t go on, achieving an honorable 5th place in the Grand Final.
