Armenia: Inga, Anush and Essaï Altounian to perform in Paris

The 2009 Armenian Eurovision representatives, Inga & Anush sisters are going to perform at the Armenian Gala at the Maison des Arts Theatre in Paris, on 21 and 22 October. The event will also feature the French-Armenian singer Essaï Altounian, who took part in Eurovision 2015, as part of the Genealogy ensemble.

Emotional performances on the schedule

As the magazine Nouvelles d’Arménie reports, the twinning committee between France and Armenia will be organizing the Gala Arménie with a series of spectacular performances by internationally recognized artists. This gala will be paying tribute to the Armenian people who live and work in France.

Inga & Anush will be present to fascinate the audience with their voices, singing touching songs dedicated to their nation.

Essaï, who will also appear in the gala has collaborated with the biggest names of both the French and Armenian music industry. He has also worked as an actor, as he had the role of Count Paris in Gérard Presgurvic’s musical comedy Romeo and Juliet.

Moreover, the gala is going to feature the young dancers group Ararat, as they promise to provide an enjoyable show, performing emotional choreographies dressed in traditional costumes.

Inga & Anush at Eurovision

In February 2009, the Armenian public chose via a national final the Inga & Anush Arshakyan sisters to represent them at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow. The duo made an extraordinary and memorable performance of their song Jan Jan, which definitely impressed the Eurovision audience. The sisters managed to progress from the first semi-final to the Grand Final and eventually they entered the Top 10, coming 10th with 92 points.

Essaï Altounian at Eurovision

Essaï Altounian was one of the singers who had been invited from the Armenian national broadcaster AMPTV to form the Genealogy band and represent them at Eurovision 2015. The band was created by five Armenians of diaspora, each one coming from a different continent.

With the entry Face the shadow, the band ended up 16th at the Grand Final evening with 34 points.
