Ilse DeLange, frontwoman of The Common Linnets, hosts her own show Ilse’s Veranda, from Nashville, Tennessee. Tonight, she welcomes fellow country lover and former Eurovision participant, Douwe Bob.

In Ilse’s Veranda (“Ilse’s Porch”), recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, Dutch country star Ilse DeLange (Eurovision 2014) receives various celebrities and artists, talking about their life and passion, making music together, and sharing wonderful moments in the United States. This week, young singer Douwe Bob (Eurovision 2016) is Ilse’s guest, and their shared love for country music will be at the heart of this evening’s episode.

What to look forward to

Ilse and Douwe will share some special moments, including heartfelt conversations about their parents, a musical meeting with country star Rodney Crowell about the archetypal “outlaws” in country music such as Hank Williams and Johnny Cash, and of course playing beautiful songs together.

The two former Eurovision participants will also visit the recording studio of Johnny Cash, The Cabin, where they meet the country star’s son.

Highlight is the artists’ visit to a women’s prison, where Douwe Bob performs in the footsteps of his idol Johnny Cash, and Ilse DeLange and Douwe Bob talk to the inmates. With their voices and candid natures, Ilse and Douwe touch the lives of the incarcerated women.
