GPB, the Georgian national broadcaster, has confirmed to ESCToday that Georgia will be joining the Eurovision party in Lisbon next year.

The Georgian national broadcaster is yet to determine the mechanism it will use in order to select its Eurovision act and entry for Lisbon. GPB will be releasing more details and information regarding its Eurovision 2018 in due course.

In 2017, Georgia opted for a national final in order to select its Eurovision entry and act. Tako Gachechiladze triumphed in the national final and won the right to defend the Georgian colours in Kyiv with her power ballad Keep the faith. Despite a powerful performance, Georgia failed to make it to the Grand Final.

Georgia in Eurovision

Georgia joined the Eurovision family in 2007 with Sopho Khalvashi and is yet to win the event. The country’s best placing in the competition is a 9th place, achieved in 2010 and 2011.
