As usual with the Swedish contestants, Robin has changed his look very little from his winning Melodifestivalen performance. Robin wears a well-tailored grey-blue suit and tie with a white shirt, and his accompanying dancers wear darker grey suits and white polo neck t-shirts under their suits.

Except for new camera angles, Sweden’s performance is pretty much the same as that from Melodifestivalen 2017.  The song I can’t go on was written especially for Robin Bengtsson.

When asked whether he’s going to keep up the good Swedish record of results, Robin stated:

Our goal is to reach the Top 5, as Frans did last year. However, if Sweden won’t do well in Eurovision one year, I don’t think people at home will take it too hard.

Robin also stated that it took him two months to build the treadmills. About his favourite entries, he said that these are Denmark, France, Belgium and Portugal.

The performance is pretty similar to the one we have seen in Melodifestivalen 2017, the camera work features lots of ‘black’ short fade moments. We couldn’t hear the music properly in the press centre during the first run, currently waiting for the second one.

Robin’s stage team is made of five people, four of them are visible (on the treadmills), with two of them providing backing vocals as well. the fifth member is giving extra backing vocals from behind the stage.

The first ‘backstage’ part of the performance takes place at the back of stage on the left-hand side which is totally open, means the crowd will be seen during parts of this segment.

Robin’s facial expressions seem to be less ‘trying’ and more natural but it’s not sure whether the viewers at home will appeal to this fashion show styled performance. (Who said Lisa Ajax’s cosmetics commercial?). The vocal abilities were far from great and the balance with the backing singers need an improvement.
