Four weeks of laughs, tears and tantrums have come to an end this evening in Celebrity Big Brother UK; former X Factor and Eurovision participants Jedward have just missed out on winning of the nineteenth series after finishing in second place!

Having joined the Celebrity Big Brother (CBB) house on day 4, Jedward were brought into the house as part of the All Stars team, having previously competed in the eighth series in 2011 where they finished in third place.

Celebrity Big Brother 2017

The house was split into 2 teams at the start of the show; the All Stars featured housemates who had entered a previous CBB house, whilst the New Stars were completely new to the world of Big Brother.

Eighteen celebrities in total appeared in the nineteenth series, but only 6 remained in tonight’s final where it was down to the public to decide their CBB winner. Alongside runners-up Jedward, who receive 29.91% of the final vote, the remaining finalists included:

  • Winner: Coleen Nolan (television presenter and singer, former member of The Nolans)
  • 3rd: Kim Woodburn (television personality)
  • 4th: James Cosmo (actor known for films and series including Highlander, Braveheart and Game of Thrones)
  • 5th: Nicola McLean (glamour model and media personality)
  • 6th: Bianca Gascoigne (glamour model and television personality)

Nolan who went on to win the nineteenth CBB receiving 32.65% of the vote, with less than a 3% gap in the first and second position.

Bullying scandal

Throughout their time in the CBB house, some viewers had expressed their concern at the treatment of the Irish duo in the house, with accusations of ‘bullying’ arising mid-series following arguments with multiple housemates.

However towards the last week of the show, Jedward seemed to grow on the remaining housemates as well as the public, soon becoming the ‘peacemakers’ of the show during the last few days.

So what’s up next for Jedward? The Irish duo have taken to Twitter to thank their fans for their support during the show and have since announced that more tour and concert dates are expected to be revealed in due course. What more will follow? Only time will tell…
