Tonight’s show

Night 6 of Depi Evratesil sees the continuation of the team selection process of the competition, where each qualified act to date will perform for a second time to the 6-member jury panel.

Performing a cover version of a hit single, each act will perform for a place on one of the available teams in the contest, decided by the jury members. The jury will have to wait until the last 10 seconds of each performance in order to decide whether the act will join that member’s team.

The Depi Evratesil jury consists of 6 former Eurovision participants; Hayko (2007), Inga (2009 & 2015) & Anush (2009), Aram MP3 (2014), Essaï Altounian (2015) and Iveta Mukuchyan (2016).

National selection format

Depi Evratesil began in October and will run throughout the next 2 months, consisting of 4 different stages. The Armenian representative will be determined in December, with the winner of the national selection being decided via a combined SMS vote and jury deliberation.

Although the artist will be decided in December, it is currently unknown how the Armenian song entry for the competition will be selected. More details are expected in the coming months.

AMPTV has decided to opt for a national selection in order to select Armenia’s act for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, the last time being in 2013.

The nation has received successful results over the years since their Eurovision debut in 2006, placing in the top 10 of the Grand Final a total of 7 times to date.
