Patricia Kaas, who represented France at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow, is all set to release her new album, and is preparing for her subsequent 2017 European tour.

The latest album by Patricia Kaas, simply titled Patricia Kaas, will be released 11 November 2016. The French artist is very pleased with this album, which contains original and unreleased material, written especially for her over a period of some thirteen years.

After gaining international acclaim with interpretations of classic French chansons, such as the work of Edith Piaf, Patricia Kaas views the release of new songs written for her as a breath of fresh air. Releasing personal work gives the singer a boost of confidence:

I feel better. I’m my own worst enemy. I always wanted to challenge myself, because I had no confidence in myself. Everything, it suddenly all came out, and I feel better.

Patricia Kaas has been performing and touring for several years, since the release of her international successful live show and album Kaas chante Piaf (“Kaas sings Piaf“), in 2012. It was a delight, but also a challenge for the French artist to interpret Edith Piaf’s chansons:

I certainly did not want to do a tribute to Piaf by making a copy and paste.

Now, Patricia Kaas is ready for a new chapter in her career with the forthcoming release of her self-titled album. She is able to show her growth as an artist, and present personal musical material:

The last ten years (…) I learned a lot of things.

The artist will also venture on a new European tour in 2017, visiting France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. For more information and tour dates, visit Patricia Kaas’ official website patriciakaas.net.
