Latvia: Aminata participates in Eurovision Songwriting Camp 2016 in The Netherlands

Aminata Savadogo, who represented Latvia at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, is one of the musicians partaking in the Eurovision Songwriting Camp 2016.

The Eurovision Songwriting Camp in the Netherlands is an initiative of DWB Music LTD in co-operation with TCC Studios, and sponsored by Amphion Loudpeakers ltd. Singers and songwriters come together to make music, write songs and discuss the art of creating songs, with the potential of being a Eurovision hit.

Many countries are represented, and the first edition of the Eurovision Songwriting Camp in 2015 actually delivered a song that made it to the stage at the ESC 2016 in Stockholm: Icebreaker, performed by Agnete for Norway.

This year, one of the participants of the camp is Latvian singer-songwriter Aminata. Aminata has a lot of Eurovision-experience to share, as she represented Latvia at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria, with the song Love injected, which reached a respectable 6th place in the Grand Final with 186 points.

Moreover, the Latvian artist wrote the song Heartbeat for Justs Sirmais who represented Latvia at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, Sweden, and placed 15th in the Grand Final, with 132 points.

Aminata is very excited to join the Eurovision Songwriting Camp, as she posted on her official Facebook-page:

The Eurovision Songwriting Camp 2016 is held in venue De Basiliek in Veenendaal, the Netherlands, starting 8 August. Who knows, the next Eurovision-hit might well be created there! Aminata and the other artists will share their knowledge, creativity and musicality.

Aminata Savadogo (Riga, 1993, Latvian-Russian mother, father from Burkina Faso) is a singer-songwriter, producer and model. She participated in various musical TV-shows and contests in Latvia, gaining popularity after participating in the Latvian selection for Eurovision 2014, Dziesma 2014, placing 5th.

She represented Latvia at Eurovision 2015 and wrote the Latvian entry for Eurovision 2016. Aminata’s debut album, Inner Voice, was released in April 2015, and she is currently working on her new album Red Moon, wich is scheduled for release in October 2016. She is also set to compete in the fifth season of Golos, the Russian version of the popular TV-show The Voice.
