Serbia: Artist announcement on 7 March; Sanja Vučić to Stokcholm?

RTS, the national Serbian broadcaster has announced that it will be announcing the 2016 Serbian Eurovision candidate on Monday 7 March.

Whilst the name of the 2016 Serbian representative will be officially announced on Monday 7 March, the Serbian entry for Stockholm will be premiered in special show Pesma Srbije za Evropu   scheduled to be aired at 21:00 CET on RTS 1, on Saturday 12 March.

It seems the cat is out of the bag! Various Serbian newspapers and news websites are reporting that Sanja Vučić is the 2016 Serbian Eurovision hopeful. Blic.rs, Telegraf.rs and Expreso.rs are all running a story stating that Sanja will fly the Serbian flag in Stockholm next May. An official confirmation regarding the 2016 Serbian Eurovision act  is yet to be made by the Serbian national broadcaster.

RTS has opted for an internal selection in order to select its  Eurovision act and entry for Stockholm.

Serbia debuted at the Eurovision in 2007 and won the competition the very same years with Marija Serifovic’s Molitva.

The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 10, 12 and 14 May at the Globen Arena in Stockholm.
