The public dispute over Xavier Naidoo’s selection to represent Germany followed by an allegedly leaked list of participants lead to the lastest news in Germany regarding a traditional national selection.
Various German websites report today cite sources within NDR and ARD who say that the German national final for Eurovision Song Contest 2016 will take place on 25 February and will be broadcasted live on ARD starting 20:15 CET. In the selection, traditionally named Unser Song (or Lied) für Stockholm, a total of ten acts will fight for the German ticket to Sweden. The winner will be chosen by Televoting.
Joining to help is Stefan Raab who represented Germany in Eurovision 2000 and had a significant role in the German selection process and Eurovision delegation in 1998, 2004 and 2010-2012.
No information regarding the participating acts has been released so far. Official information from NDR is expected to be released soon.
