Denmark: Eurovision host Pilou Asbæk joins Game of Thrones

Pilou Asbæk, one of the three hosts of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, has joined the cast of Game of thrones.

The Danish actor and host will join the HBO show, which will begin its sixth season in the New Year.

Pilou will play Euron Greyjoy, the uncle of Theon and Yara Greyjoy, and the brother of the Lord of the Iron Islands, Balon Greyjoy.

According to US entertainment website Variety, Euron is a skilled warrior, known for his tempestuous and unpredictable moods, and the captain of a ship called Silence.

In its five year run so far, Game of thrones has picked up countless awards and has built a dedicated fan base from around the globe.

Pilou Asbæk was announced as one of the three hosts for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 alongside Lise Rønne and Nikolaj Koppel.

This was Denmark and Copenhagen’s third time hosting the contest, after previously playing home to the 1964 and 2001 editions of the show.
