Discover Vienna: The Lifeball 2015 Guest List

ESCToday in collaboration with Vienna Tourist Board (Wien.info) will be bringing you a series of articles leading up to the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in order to showcase and introduce the 2015 Eurovision host city Vienna to our readers. Today we will check out the Guest List and the Agenda for the 2015 Lifeball, which is scheduled to be held in the Eurovision host city this week.

The 2015 Lifeball will be kicking off this week in the 2015 Eurovision host city Vienna. The annual event will be taking place this year 1 week prior to the Eurovision Song Contest. A grand line up of international celebrities, artists, actors, singers and personalities have been lined up to grace the occasion, including Eurovision stars such as Conchita Wurst, Jedward and Dana International. BBC’s Graham Norton will be one of the hosts of the grand soiree, whilst ORF’s Alice Tumler and Mirjam Weichselbraun (Eurovision 2015 hosts) will also be present in the event along with Kati Bellowitsch.

International stars and celebrities such as Charlize Theron, Sean Penn, Courtney Act, Bianca del Rio, Madcon, MOWE, Carmen Electra, Dita von Teese, Jean Paul Gaultier, Placido Domingo, Anna Nebretko will be among the many who gracing the ocassion.

There will be several events taking place as part of the 2015 Lifeball running from Friday-Saturday; a Fashion Show at Rathausplatz by Jean Paul Gualtier, Style Contest- Life Ball Queen, First Ladies Luncheon, Red Ribbon Celebration Concert- Building Bridges for Peace, Lifeball 2015 Gala at the Rathaus and the AIDS Solidarity Gala.

Donate and Support the Fight Against HIV/AIDS (AIDS Life)

AIDS LIFE, an independent non-profit organisation, was founded in 1992 by Life Ball mastermind Gery Keszler and Dr. Torgom Petrosian with the aim to raise funds for the much needed support of people who are HIV positive or living with AIDS. The annual Life Ball, Europe’s largest AIDS charity event, is the organization’s main source of income.

AIDS LIFE considers itself responsible to continuously promote awareness and public consciousness about HIV and AIDS. On top of organizing Life Ball and raising funds through the yearly event, numerous activities throughout the year are dedicated to education of the AIDS epidemic and promoting ways of prevention.

How to get there?

You can get to Burgtheater and Rathausplatz via Vienna’s metro system- U-Bahn. You need to take the Purple line U2 and get down at Rathaus.
