The Netherlands: Ilse DeLange receives 3FM-Award

Dutch artist Ilse DeLange, initiator of the group The Common Linnets who earned the second place at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, has received the Dutch 3FM-Award for Best Female Artist.

Ilse DeLange is not only the central singer in The Common Linnets, she is one of the most beloved solo-artists in The Netherlands. Ilse has won an impressive line of prizes with The Common Linnets over the past year, but also deserved acclaim in her own right. Now, Ilse DeLange has been rewarded with the 3FM-Award for Best Female Artist, being chosen by the listeners of 3FM Radio.

The 3FM Awards 2015, an initiative of Dutch radio-station 3FM, were held last Thursday, April 9th 2015, in the venue TivoliVredenburg, in the Dutch city Utrecht. Besides the award-show, there was a festival with performances of all nominated artists. Ilse DeLange, frontwoman of The Common Linnets, won the award for Best Female Artist.

Best Male Artist was awarded to Dotan, who was one of the potential candidates to represent The Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna, Austria. However, Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS eventually chose artist Trijntje Oosterhuis, with a song written by Anouk, to represent her country at Eurovision 2015.
