RTÉ Television has announced that a Late Late Show special will be broadcast on 17th February , showcasing Brian Kennedy performing Ireland's four potential Eurovision Song Contest songs.

Viewers will be invited to vote for the song to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Athens in May. The special of the Late Late Show will also look back at the Top 10 Irish Eurovision Song Contest songs since the country began competing, including interviews with previous winners.

Viewers who vote for the song which is picked as the one to represent Ireland will be entered into a draw for a Renault car.

The final four songs, as picked by a committee, will be sung by Brian Kennedy on the Late Late Show special. RTÉ has also decided to extend the closing date for song submissions to Friday 27th January. Over 500 writers have already submitted songs, songs can still be submitted.
