Turkish ska band Athena will perform For real in Istanbul. Turkish televoters selected that song out of three entries which were performed in tonight's Saysal Gece show on TRT.

Athena as performers of the Turkish Eurovision entry were selected internally by broadcaster TRT in September 2003. Three possible songs for the Eurovision Song Contest, I love Mud on my Face, Easy Man and For real, all sung in English, were shown several times on TRT since Wednesday. Turkish viewers were allowed to vote for their favorite by phone and SMS since then.

In tonight's Saysal Gece show, they performed all three songs again, followed by some interval acts, including a child's choir singing a version of John Lennon's peace hymn Imagine, and the drawing of this week's lottery numbers (as the show is originally intended to be Turkey's lottery show). Finally For real, a powerful ska song with a subtle oriental flavour, which was the fans favorite in beforehand, was announced as the winner with an overwhelming 79% of the votes.

For real: 79%
Easy Man: 11%
I love Mud on my Face: 10%
