Sarbel: Promo tour dates confirmed
Sarbel returned to Greece after spending the Easter holidays in London, United Kingdom with family. The time was spent away from the press and was not used for promotion but now the publicity machine is moving up a few gears. Sarbel heads to Cyprus tomorrow where he will be making some guest appearances.
Sarbel's stop over in Cyprus will be hectic, starting with an appearance on tv game show, Pame Evropi. He will then go to be interviewed for Cypriot music channel Music Box and will be appearing on RIK news and the morning . He will be doing radio shows on Radio RIK 1 and Radio RIK 3. Tomorrow night he will be attending a special party at the Vivendi Club. Tickets can be bought from the club for £CY 8 from www.vivendiclub.com
He then heads to Sweden for three days (16th - 18th April). He will be performing on stage at Club Connection in Stockholm on 17th April at a special party organised in association with our partner website, Gylleneskor.se and then goes on to Romania for four days (19th - 23rd April).
On April 24th, Sarbel will return to Athens to begin his final preparations for Helsinki. He will be working hard on final rehearsals and getting the choreography for Helsinki right before heading to Finland for the Eurovision Song Contest.

the song is catchy, but nothing very special, BUT sarbel is very-very special indeed and that is why this is one of the best entries of this year..good luck sarbel, make europe dane to your maria!!!!
POSSIBLE WINNERS
SWEEDEN (my favourite song AMAZING but people say live isnt so good)
BULGARIA (also amazing can they perform it so good on stage?)
SWITZERLAND (i hate the song why people love it?)
GREECE (Sarbel shines on stage the song doesnt deserve to win)
CYPRUS (good song good and experienced voice not so impressive to win)
BOSNIA (I love the song but it sounds typical balkan melody)
GERMANY (gorgeous, with attractive style)
All these predictions based on studio versions so after the performances we can be more sure.
The strange this year is that many countries choose very good songs with artist who cant sing live so good. So any prediction is risky.
The best of luck to Sarbel and to Evridiki!
We hope it's Athens 2008 or Nicosia 2008!
LORDI LAST YEAR DIDNT MAKE PROMO TOUR BUT THEY CAME 1 IN THE FINAL!!
To La Peche Wesh:
It's not true that this year's Eurovision will be crap. Many of the songs for this Eurovision are very good indeed. You just have to listen to them more, and try to get the translation for them. You commented how Serbian performer is ugly. Well, this is a competition for the best song, not the miss Eurovision. I agree that look helps too, but what are you voting should be the actual song.
Saying about former Yugoslav countries voting for each other at least makes some sense. Serbia has always had songs in SERBIAN, so all the people from former Yugoslav countries understand them. The words for the song Molitva are very good so it will not be political when Serbia gets 12 points from Bosnia, Croatia, because if it was politics, Croatia would never give 12 points to Serbia and vice versa.
And it's not true that Serbs were the bad guys attacking "Bosnians", because what actually happened in Bosnia was a civil war, in which Serbs were killed too (Bosnian Orthodox people). Bosnian orthodox people lived there before the actual Islamisation of Serbs. Croats cleaned the whole Croatia from Serbs, which is a genocide, but noone says anything about it, because Croats are catholics, so they are priviledged nation by Vatican, Germany, USA. If Serbia forced all the Croats from Serbia to leave Serbia and killed many of them, it would be considered a genocide. Western propaganda is what made many uneducated people thinking the way they wanted the "truth" to be.
I am a Serb and I am not saying that all the Serbs are good, we did bad things, but others did it to us too. Croats killed 700 000 Serbs at one place called Jasenovac in 1940's so should Serbs be killed again in last war? Serbs could never stand invadors, which is why we always had to fight, compared to Croats who welcomed every ocupator with flowers...Croatia is such a rasistic country- just 2 days ago, a group of 25 Croatian fanatics started a fight with a Serbian hokey team in Zagreb, just because they are Serbs. To be even worse, people who found themselves there joined the Croatian fanatics bashing Serbian people. And Croatia will get to European Union???These thing would not happen in Belgrade, and even if it happened, normal people would try to settle the things down, not to join the group of huligans.
Anyway, this should not involve politics but just few infos for those people who have no sense about life, but tend to discuss facts about Serbs, Bosnian muslims and Croats....
I reckon Greece has a great song as well as Cyprus, Turkey...and I like Ukrainian song (it's funny and i like the beat)....
Good luck to Greece and Malta! My two favourites this year.
1st Malta
2nd Greece
I'm Armenian and i wish the best to our brotherly nation....I mean GREECE !!!
If there is an imaginary word to describe this years Greek entry is:
"EUROVISIONISTIC"
It is a word that describes a song that is typically 'manufactured' for Eurovision: Re-fried food.
It has ALL the characteristics that we are so used to, and bored of.
Turkeys song is of the same genre.
Typical, unimaginative, predictable, and very very BORING.
Simply EUROVISIONISTIC!
he should not wear a lot. maybe swim suit.
Much better than Anna Vissi - and he must be at least a quarter of her age.
Let's hope he doesn't wear a pirate costume for the final.
Very friendly guy but His song SUXXX..Sarbel RICKY martin needs a luck..

Yeah, he really needs to go to Cyprus to try to get some points from them.
Sarbel is adorable, and his song is cute too. There are too many whingers visiting this site. 2007 is a good year I think, different to others in some ways (a lot of humour, rock & drag) but it's all to the good. Sarbel's song is one of the most typical eurovision songs this year (perhaps the most typical) and I'd be very surprised if it did well, but that doesn't mean it's a bad song. What I think is great about 2007 is that the typical formula of what makes a winning song was blown away by Lordi. I have many favourites: Slovenia, Malta, Georgia, France, Russia, Cyprus....
I WAS HOUPING THAT SARBEL WILL VISIT SERBIA LIKE HELENA AND ANNA DID, BUT NEVER MIND...
SARBEL, YOU ARE THE BEST, AND I WILL BE VERY HAPPY IF YOU WIN!
GO SARBEL, GO YASSOY MARIA, THE BEST ENTRY THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ATHENS 2008 !!!
@ La Peche Wesh
You made some good points, I have to say. I come from one of the ''voting blocks'' (Macedonia) and I don't have to be that smart to know in advance that we will give 12 to Serbia, 10 to Croatia (in case they qualify), then Bosnia & Herzegovina etc. Sometimes I blame the voters here for this predictable voting, but sometimes I try to accept their opinion that they like Dado Topic more than any scandinavian singer, because he has made some huge hits over the years in former Yugoslavia, made concerts here and so on, so the majority would choose him over the Ark.
I'll try to explain why the ex-Yugoslavians vote for each other:
- they understand each other's language and know the singers very well, in most of the cases the ESC participants are already big stars in the whole region, make concerts and sell CDs long before they are chosen to represent their country at the ESC;
- there are many political reasons not to vote for your ex-Yugoslavian neighbour, but at the same time even more reasons not to vote for the west-Europeans: if you could just once experience how it feels to wait hours and hours in front of an EU Embassy here just to get a visa to visit that country, feel the humiliation of being denied for no reason and feel that they won't even let you visit their country to spend money there... I have no intention to start political issues, but I feel that this political reasons make the ex-Yugoslavians feel still behind the iron curtain (and we are!) and so they rather vote for their neighbour with same problems. Good proof of that is Slovenia: once they're in the EU, they're out of the voting block!
The same case more-less is the former Soviet Union.
But I definitely agree that the ESC is boring with this voting pattern. Maybe 50% televoting- 50%
jury will reduce the ''irregularity'' to an acceptable level: a professional jury wouldn't mind where a certain song comes from. For example, Belarus gives always 12 to Russia, but even with 12 from the televoting, the 0 from the jury would mean that Russia could get no more than 6 points from Russia in total.
Greetings from Macedonia
It'd be quite funny if Greece won it again. Greece has done so well since 2004
Good luck Sarbel, but you should visit France, Espana and Central Europe too.
Good luck Sarbel

U R the B.E.S.T!!!!!............
TOP 5 ,for sure........
ATHENS 2008
I LOVE THIS SONG! I really hope it wins! Great performer, great song, and his looks don´t spoil the show either....
All the best to Greece from Iceland!
This is Europe speaking...
12 points are awarded to...
SARBEL!!!
GO GREECE!
GO SARBEL!
THESSALONIKI 2008!
La Pêche Wesh,
I totally agree with you mate.
I missed the days when the winner was unpredictable, at least when most of the 12 points were unpredictable. Sorry to hear you didn't like Turkey's song, but anyway, everyone has a different taste. Hoping to see UK entry high if they are cleared from the case about the similarity to Pandora's song, I really like it. And beside, good luck to Sarbel, but the best luck to Hungary, Latvia and Denmark.
Greetz from Istanbul.
Typical promo tour.... this tour has almost nothing to do with Eurovision and almot more to do with advertising the single in the countries that it is bound to chart..... hence why even though he grew up in London, he will not do a London slot on the Promo tour!
I guess at least Evridiki will make it over to the UK this year, even if it is blatently only to please the North London Greek Cypriots
boo hoo! I wanna see Sarbel live!!!
I can just tell this year's eurovision will be rubbish.
The favourite songs are Turkey, Serbia and Bulgaria. They are the three worst songs in the contest. I don't know what Bulgaria's song is supposed to be but it is just a cacophony of noise. Turkey's song is so boring and repetative it would turn you psychotic and Serbia's song makes you want to take an over-dose it is that grim to hear and she is so ugly it makes you want to hurl everything out of your stomach.
So on top of that we will see the usual Old Communists and Yugoslavs voting for eachother which will stop countries who really are making an effort like Germany, Netherlands and Denmark doing as well as they should.
We will be able to sit and watch Bosnia announce 8 points to Slovenia, 10 points to Turkey and 12 points to Serbia before Sarajevo has even been called (and what is more ironic is Serbia treated Bosnia terribley just over 10 years ago) I don't know. Maybe this shows that Eurovision can build friendships but it is getting boring.
The Eurovision has become soooooooooooo boring every year it is the same cherade. We have a weird dance routine or a costume or a fat lesbian and that's it! That's the winner.
What happened to the days when it was unpredictable??? and that was only just over 2 or 3 years ago before the influx of the USSR. So is that not telling the EBU something.
And don't bother trying to shoot me down in flames people because if what I have just said angers you then it is therefore making you think about something that you all don't want to hear and so you can only take from it that the truth hurts.
And also, I'm from the UK and I hate the UK song and I can't wait to see it sink so don't give me abuse about the UK because I will be in agreement with you all who try.
I think the Greek song is very good and it deserves to be at the top again this year. Good luck Greece!
Cyprus has a very good song this year too with Evridiki, I love Cyprus. Good luck
Sarbel is really better of Anna Vissi last year!
He's a favorite for me!
Good Luck to Greece!
