Coral 12 points
@ Yavoda Minskaja, Michael Mouri,
You're welcome, people
My pleasure, really, if my little contribution proved helpful and allowed you to savour the fine lyrics of this fantastic song. Always happy to share.
@ paul cl,
Dude, thanks for your constant buena vibra
See you around.
My rankings (may well change after hearing the live versions, though):
Daniel Diges: 10/10. Loved it from the first time I heard it! Very different sound to it. I love his vocals. And I think this could do real well in Oslo.
Anabel Conde 7/10
Coral 7/10
Venus 5/10
Ainhoa Cantalapiedra 5/10
Samuel & Patricia 5/10
Jose Galisteo 4/10
Lorena 3/10
Fran Dieli 3/10
John Cobra 1/10
@Marcelo

Spanish final in 22nd February
Coral is the best
I am sooo happy, Gooo Spain
@ Iwona & Marcelo
GRACIAS!
You two are really sweethearts.
I am (trying) to learn spanish, so this is fantastic for me.
I am listening to this song so often. It captured me COMPLETELY, don't know why. The best (hope to be) EUROVISION entry for a long, long, time ...
SPAIN GO GO GO GO GO GO NO. 1
@Marcelo
Very good translation I must say! (and I'm "officially" bilingual!) but I often find I mix the languages these days, you know I keep saying things like "25 years old more or less" (25 años mas o menos) or "yes yes! (sí, sí!) or the worst "tell me..!" (dime) on the telephone , I must try to stop it!, well good luck Coral, of all that top 10 she probably deserves it although I'm not 100% convinced about the song, anyway I heard on my "TVE visit grapevine" that the NF would be 20/2 or 27/2 , If I'm free I may get some tickets for it (LOL, like I'd pay to go!!) as I think I'll be in Madrid those 2 weekends though I think I've had enough of TVE...anyway congrats again on your excellent English!
Marcelo
I simply came out in goose pimples.
Me too! Even If i don't have any conection with Spain! 0%LOL but that was since I didn't see Rafael Nadal!!

I hate Nadal!!! I'm so happy our Novak Djokovic is now no 2 in the world and Nadal is no4!! hihihihi
I wanna Del Potro from Argentinma to be better than Nadal on the list too!
P.S. I already forced my all friends to vote for Coral in online preselection and for other singers coz it was important then!
Vamos Espana!!
@ Iwona and any other pushing for Coral,
I watched this video (already posted here)
http://www.youtube.c(...)ture=player_embedded
and began reading the comments and well-wishing from all over Europe. I simply came out in goose pimples.
I know we are still to wait and hope it comes in first in the NF... still I strongly recommend you begin lobbying for it
Talk to your friends, family and everyone in your countries!
GO CORAL, GOOOO!!!
YOU'RE WELCOME, MARCELO!!
Thanks, Iwona
Not for nothing I am a native speaker of Spanish and by dint of study (25 years studying/using it) what people call native-like in English.
I am very glad you find my rendering pleasing
Marcelo
Your translation is better than this one I found on one site!! Hahahaha
I kindly contribute my humble translation/adaptation:
IN A LIFETIME
I resorted to awaiting a new sun
I resorted to healing my heart
I resorted to knitting solitude
Yet memories get entangled in my skin
I unravelled pieces of yesterday,
Of a love that couldn’t ever be
I resorted to forgetting him
Yet there’s not always a way for a will
I haven’t forgotten a thing he gave to me
A lifetime is not enough to forget he loved me
I haven’t forgotten the day he said goodbye
I haven’t forgotten, haven’t forgotten it hurt
Here I am, you see… I haven’t forgotten his love
If distance was his solution,
How come I’m walking in his direction?
Because I don’t know how to live without him!
Do you know if he remembers me?
I haven’t forgotten a thing he gave to me
A lifetime is not enough to forget he loved me
I haven’t forgotten the day he said goodbye
I haven’t forgotten, haven’t forgotten it hurt
Here I am, you see… I haven’t forgotten his love
Tell him I have suffered, talk him back to me!
Love…
I just can’t forget him; no, I can’t
I haven’t forgotten, haven’t forgotten he loved me
Here I am, you see… I haven’t forgotten his love!
@ Michael Mouri
I devoted myself waiting for an illusion
I devoted myself healing the heart,
I devoted myself weaving the loneliness
and the memory gets entangled in my skin...
I was defoliating parts of the yesterday
of a love that could never be
I dedicated myself to forget about him
but wanting not always means being able to
Chorus:
I didn't forget anything that he's given to me
I can't forget that he loved me,not even in a lifetime
I don't forget the day when he said goodbye,
I don't forget, I don't forget how it hurt
you see , I don't forget,
his love
If his solution was the distance
why do I walk in his direction,
I don't know how to live without him
Do you know, if he remembers about me?
Tell him that I've suffered, tell him to come back (to me)
no, no, no, no, no
forget, I don't forget how it hurt
you see, I can't forget
your
AMAZING lyrics!
@ IWONA
could you please be so kind and translate the whole lyrics?
MUCHO GRACIAS!
GO CORAL GO!!!!!!
Marcelo, I hope he doesn't go all diva-like on Spain. That's why I consider him a bold/risky bet. His song could do very well if he keeps himself under control.
PS: I meant "I've written all I had to say..." in my last post, sorry.
Really looking forward to seeing who will be chosen as the members of this year's jury

No olvide nada de lo que me dio
en una vida no se olvida que el me amó,
no olvide el día que me dijo adios,
no olvide, no olvide que dolió
ya me ves no olvide,
su amor

I didn't forget anything that he's given to me
I can't forget that he loved me, not even in a lifetime
I don't forget the day when he said goodbye,
I don't forget, I don't forget how it hurt
you see , I don't forget,
his love
My final evaluation after listening to the studio versions:
1. Ainhoa Cantalapiedra 9/10 (I love this very traditional song but it wouldn't achieve anything in Oslo.)
2. Daniel Diges 7/10 (The song is rather peculiar and quite different from all those I have heard it a thousand times before songs in ESC. That's a plus for sure.)
3. Coral Segovia 6/10 (It is a decent power ballad but I still don't like the over the top vocal acrobatics towards the end of the song.)
4. Samuel & Patricia 6/10 (This one is quite old-fashioned but rather likeable in its own unpretentious way. Wouldn't make it to the top 15 in Oslo.)
5. Anabel Conde 5/10 (I love Anabel but this one is a terribly dull and repetitive ballad imo. I expect to prefer this being performed live.)
6. José Galisteo 4/10 (It is a silly shake-it! song but at least I don't want to turn it off after 20 seconds. Cute guy, flat voice, might actually do quite well in televoting but the juries will probably notice everything that is wrong with this one ... which is quite a lot!)
7. Fran Deli 4/10 (He knows how to sing, but this one is little more than the official ESC bore 2010).
8. Venus 3/10 (This is exactly the I have heard it a thousand times before and didn't like it the first time stuff I have been talking about before.)
9. Lorena 2/10 (What a waste of a strong and beautiful voice. Whoever gave her this piece of superfluous drivel to sing should be punished under martial law!)
I don't stoop to judge stuff like John Cobra's thing.
Hahaha
Mi sister just visited me and wanted to listen to several national finals because she knows I always download the song during this time of the year.
She didn't like Coral even before I said anything to her.
I truly believe that Coral's song is the best... she's miles ahead from the rest...
there are some interestings songs, like Lorena's or Venus' but they are bottom material,
Dige's song is simply awful, I haven't managed to listening to it yet, after the first minute, I get totally annoyed...
And also is shame that he doesn't have one song before this one, not to mention album, and nobody can find him singing live!! Dissaster! Spain should send a singer who has at least one song!
Diges' song sounds like a number from a big musical Broadway-like production
For me it's a bit silly to compare Daniel Diges (Who the fu.k is he??? Never heard before
) with big musical Broadway-like production!
