* I meant to say "his voice breaking"
Can we argument a bit?
KNOCK IT OFF WITH DANIEL DIGES!
I am not sure whether all the proponents of that song understand what it says, or understand it in the bigger context of Spaniards choosing a candidate to represent their country in ESC:
- The lyrics are really "tiny" (pequeñito, chiquitito); so what's all this megalomaniac fuss about in the song! It does not sound tiny at all;
- Diges is a singer of musical comedy, and apparently they wrote him a song that would match him. But a) the lyrics and the music are totally disconnected, b) they have nothing to do with this country sending anything representing their style, c) it sounds absolutely overdone and out of control as it grows;
- Rather than a man singing to entertain to a woman or to appeal an audience, it sounds like a maddened Soviet general haranguing his troops to go to battle against the alien forces that outnumber his own in a suicidal defensive attack under the inclemency of the raw open winter;
- Diges can barely control himself on record... what do we expect he will do live? He already sounds possessed by Attila's ghost in the studio version (his voice braking in all the wrong places, hardly securing sanity as the ever-repeating ritornello becomes stronger in a crazed mock-military crescendo).
Does anyone really believe this entry could stand a chance?
There has been a lot of noise about the process of chosing spanish representative. What is true is that you can not trust the results of the votes casted through TVE's web page.
But there is one trustworthy source of information. YOUTUBE. Here is the list of the most listened tracks in youtube among the pre-selected ones. (When there is more than one entry in youtube with the same song, I take into account only the three more listened ones).
1. Venus - Perfecta: 151.444
2. Coral - En una vida: 127.610
3. Jose Galisteo - Beautiful life 111.014
4. Lorena - Amor mágico 71.399
5. Anabel Conde - Sin miedos 64.077
6. John Cobra - Carol 54.874
7. Samuel y Patricia - Recuérdame 50.200
8. Ainhoa Cantalapiedra - Volvere 41.546
9. Daniel Diges - Algo pequeñito 41.174
10. Fran Dieli - 28.325
I doubt that Venus will be the winner. But it's a catchy tune...
carola of course...most decent song! just beautiful...
I am from spain, And for me daniel diges is BORING!!
coral and her winner song for spain!! Sorry ainhoa I love you, but coral for the esc is better. Madrid or Barcelona 2011. Welcome to the site of the sun
Coral's Spain's best option of an outstanding result in the ESC. Hopefully Spaniards will choose right this time. Sorry but La noche es para mi was not a good song at all
My favorite song here: Coral Segovia
The song i do not like at all: Daniel Digues
Hope to see Coral in Oslo.
NOOOOO Daniel Diges please!!!!
I have 5 hopes, ohhhhhhhhh one of them must win or I will be the bigest looser in this site!!!

1. Coral Segovia
2. Venus
3. Samuel y Patricia
4. Anabel Conde
5. Ainhoa
Please..........I don't ask for smth big, just one of those 5!!!
pleaseee stop critiquizing all!!! 7 of operacion triunfo and whats the problem??? do you know that alexander riback is from pop idol? or Dima bilan??? and LORENA is OT winner too like Ainhoa!! Samuel and patricia are a good choise too!! ANABEL CONDE DIGES AND CORAl are good!!! Venus and Galisteo are Ok!!! the only bad is COBRA!
It isn't shameful to see Cobra there, what is shameful is to see some finalist worse than him...
The difference here is to fight for the Top 20 (Coral or Diges) or not being last (Remaining 8)...
Coral es el mejor!!! muchas suertes Espana!
Shalom from Israel
I
spain in esc!!!
Tohoshinki
Hi, well by your name i asume you may like k-pop or k music...
I like Big Bang, 2NE1, Gummy, Se7en, DBSK, SNSD, SHINee, 2PM (hope JaeBeom comeback), Wonder Girls, After School, Kara, 4minute and many more.
If you actualy like k-pop you'll be the first one i know in this site...!
@ drusus 1
Isn't it amazing how quickly people forget?
(people have already forgotten that Soraya ended second last less than a year ago - and she would have been last last if it had been a jury-only vote! and they are still going for something which is essentially the same as La Noche es para mi... but a lot more pretentious!)
@ New in Town
I genuinely believe that if Coral is chosen, Spain will probably end in the bottom 5 (definitely in the second half of the board)
And I am afraid she will be chosen by RTVE :-(
Whatever is sent, though, there's one thing clear: the ESC will not be hosted in Spain in 2011.
But I'll be optimistic like paul cl: maybe in 2012!
Only 3 of the 10 finalists are able to provide Spain a decent result this year.
1. Anabel Conde
2. Daniel Diges
3. Coral
My top 4
1. Anabel Conde
2. Coral
3. Lorena
4. Venus
Hopefully John Cobra will not win!
Daniel Diges must be the winner.
Barcelona 2012!!!
Yes, Marcelo, brighter days lie ahead. Everything and everyone seems to be pointing to Coral; she hasn't convinced me yet, the end of her song is quite tricky. I hope her live performamce does not fall apart. Daniel's song could well surprise Coral's whirlwind.
@ Eres Tu
lol... Spain will NOT end bottom 5 sending Coral... do you REALLY believe that yourself or you just use it as scare tactics?
Those other songs will most probably end in the bottom though.
Thank Goodness we can now see the back of this painful preselection process
Now it is all left to the Spanish vote (mixed emotions -relief and terror).
GO SPAIN! It's on your honour
Thanks, Marko, for the Venus tip. I'll wait for the NF to hear them, then.
Wow, did Daniel Diges jump to third place?
Wow I counted 7 Operación Triunfo losers (except Ainhoa who won but was never heard of again) in that list! (if you include "Mimi" in Venus, could be a few more lurking somewhere!), hopefully they have improved their live performances since being kicked off that show!!? if that's the final list (and who knows with TVE?) will have to go with Coral or Anabel although neither of the songs inspire me too much..
If Spain really sends Coral, well see another fan hype flop at the ESC big time - that's for sure. Such a screamy, non spanish song can't do well. At least such flops are entertaining. Seriously, it is G.son, all his entries flopped - people tend to forget that quickly!
Coral is really outstanding in this bunch of mediocrity. I hope she'll give a fab performance!! ;-)
