Ainhoa Cantalapiedra bids to represent Spain

Ainhoa Cantalapiedra will be bidding to represent Spain at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo with the song Volveré ( I'll return). She tried to represent Spain in 2003 when she competed at the Spanish Eurovision national final, after winning the 2nd edition of Operación Triunfo in 2003. She was beaten by Beth in the competition, who went on to represent Spain with the song Dime in Riga.

Ainhoa's song Volveré has  been composed by the same team behind the 2007 Spanish Eurovision national final runner-up La reina de la noche, Rafael Artesero and José Juan Santana (OGAE Spain coordinator). Rafael Artesero was also the composer behind the 2005 and 2006 Andorran Eurovision entries. José Juan Santana was one of the authors behind the 2009 Montenegrin entry, Just get out of my life, sung by Andrea Demirovic.

As you all remember, Ainhoa was one of the hot favourites to represent Spain at the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest, when she won the 2nd edition of Operación Triunfo. Her quest to represent Spain fell through due to health problems, changes in the rules and regulations of the talent show and the fact that she was not comfortable with the songs she had been proposed to sing. She didn't identify herself neither with the style nor with the genre.

Ainhoa released her latest album, Imperfecta, last April. The Spanish artist has expressed her confidence and enthusiasm, mentioning that if given the chance she would be more than honoured to represent Spain at the fortchcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo. She feels that she has finally found the right song to make a comeback to the Eurovision scene after a 7-year gap.

@ Espabila 2009,
Please correct me if I'm wrong: You want Spain to come in last, or do awfully bad, so that TVE will relinquish its rights over ESC and thus T5 can take the Spanish selection?
EXCUSE ME, but if that were so, it would be foul play for crying out loud. By the way, has it perchance crossed your mind that T5's audience would suddenly develop an interest in the festival, AND want to favour quality music??
Not the spirit, nena.

TVE=loser
Spain=last again.
Give ESC to Tele5 (Mediaset) and stop messing things around.

I've just found out that 'El gato' has lost its tenth place to Ainhoa. Things are looking a bit better. :D

This is a good song but I don't think it will represent Spain.

When I hear John Cobra song it feels like there are some gremlins singing! I hope Spain doesn't let that disaster win. It would be a shame for Spain and for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Spanish Eurofans are getting what we thought impossible for just a few years: CLAIMS FOR An HONOURABLE CONTESTANT!

It's a big effort for us (Spanish eurofans) give to ESC the place where it should be for all those years but we are getting it, and this says a lot about us: EUROVISION IS ALIVE IN SPAIN!!! and we are showing we know also how to shout louder than all those frikis who want to boicot ESC.

This deserves a big party!! hahaha

Eres tu
well as you know in Spain we have an expression for that "Enchufados" , who knows who knows etc, have you ever thought about the fact that those people appeared as "song experts" on Operación Triunfo? (Mikel Herzog, Alejandro Abad, even Patricia Kraus?!), tell me that is is just a "coincidence"?..or even were involved in writing Euro songs that somehow managed to "get to the final"?, and as I heard possibly not just on "songwriting talent", so you work it out for yourself! .....

I meant:
"there has never been an an entry associated with a Spanish Eurovision selection that I have disliked more than John Cobra's "Carol"..."

@ paul cl
I feared that reply :O)

@ New in Town
I am very happy to agree with you on something: if there hasnever been an an entry associated with a Spanish eurovision selection that I have disliked more than John Cobra's "Carol"...

Oopops... 'Carol'/'Coral'... not that far from each other are they? ;-)

p.s. I could warm to En Una Vida in spite of its MANY MANY problems - well, I will have no other choice... I am pretty certain that that is the song RTVE will send to Oslo, whether I like it or not... Another bottom 5!

@ Eres Tu

I didn't say that it's anti-Eurovision not liking Coral... everyone's entitled to theirs...

I'm saying it's anti-Eurovision to support an entry like John Cobra, I guess even you can agree with me on that.
