Finalists announced in a week
[UPD] Moldova: 83 songs submitted for national selection
Unlike in previous editions of the competition, some big names in the Moldovan music industry are missing, such as Dan Balan, Natalia Barbu, Natalia Gordienko, Nelly Ciobanu, Zdob si Zdub, Arsenium and many others. Several names are already known from past editions such as Olia Tira, Leylla, and Catalina Rusu. There are also several newcomers, like Dyma.
Many artists submitted their song yesterday and this is the reason why they are not yet on TRM's official site. The total number of submissions is 83, but as of today, the Moldovan television has published 29 songs. The announcement of the 24 finalists is expected to take place in a week.
Last year, Moldova participated in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Hora din Moldova, performed by Nelly Ciobanu, which ended up 14th in the final in Moscow.

Artthur I think that Irina Tarasiuc is the best singer in the Moldovan selection. Her song about her mother(from the lyrics I would think that she is dead but I'm not sure) is awesome. I just love the lyrics. But I'm wondering if I'm the only one here that love her song?

Thanks, Cristi R. I have high expectations for this NF, I'm hoping that my favourite songs won't disappointment, especially those two singers I mentioned.
For Shevek: about Leylla i never heared about her, but i something know about Victoria Mahu, it's like a "underground pop-star". It is a nice singer,medium level.
For Laila: Mariana Mihaila its not such a profesionist journalist, but about Pavel Turcu, many moldavian bloggers made a real moldavian brand!!!

I have finally been able to go through the newest Moldovan hopefuls. I do have to say that my top two remain the same: 'Amintirele de dor' and 'Padure verde, Padure'. I would also like to mention three othersongs that I like very much: 'Imensiatea dragostei' by Putin Tatiana,' See you soon' by Valeria Taraova and 'Cine sunt eu' by Gicu Cimbir. Well done, Moldova.

Pavel is funny! I bet he will get a lot of points. It seems he gets some media coverage in Moldova because of his song, right? It has almost 75 000 views on YouTube!
The second most views with almost 15 000 is Akord - Lady gaga. I do think a lot of people end up on that video by searching for Lady Gaga though, lol.
#3 is Bognobov with around 7707 views and Leylla only 7618. Haha. What if Pavel Turcu wins YEUROVIZJON??? I will die of laughter...
I am from Moldova, and from all the list i know only 10-15 artists, or sometimes heared about them. I like Pavel Turcu from town called Ungheni , it is amazing, also Serj Kusenkoff, Akord, Olia Tira and sun stroke project. Did you knew that Mariana Mihaila presents the news on Moldova1 channel?...

I haven't got much time today to check everything and TRM is behaving strangely. Don't they know how to make a list? Thanks, Laila, for your valuable information. At this moment I am listening to the Icelandic new songs. I'll come back here if I can.

it's so annoying. Two of Ruslan's songs are now gone and they have two of Vitalie's song. Plus they removed one with Brand and added another song with them instead. They changed the order and the second song with Todo won't play! lol.

19. Sendrea Alexandru - inimă fierbinte
This is OK. I like the melody, but it should have been more "high quality" because it sounds a little amateurish. I could like this a lot better though.
28. Vitalie Toderascu - ti-auduci aminte
This has hints of pleasantness such as the violin, lol. It sounds like a typical Russian ballad to me, but anyway, I hope he qualifies with his other song "Belladonna" instead - it's much better.
57. Pasha - you should like
A failed attempt at a modern sound in my opinion. I don't like this even if the melody is OK. He has a bad accent as well.
83. Todo - dance 4 life
I like this. It's a bit more rock. It's one of the better ones. Reminds me of Blaxy Girls because of the lyrics as well, lol.

+ They have swapped out Ruslan Tsar - Aline with a new and better version of the song I liked and was hoping would come back - Vitalie Toderascu - belladonna. Maybe it's a mistake since they have two Vitalie's song now (44 and 47), they'll probably get Ruslan's song back up again. I will just imagine Ruslan Tsar is still on place 44.
Now there is only #69, #85 and #86 left.
Of all these, I think "Millennium" sounds the best, although there are flashes of the "Color of the Night" there...

@ Laila - I think " Angel of night " is a good song! Eventhough I prefer " See you soon ", it seems a stronger and more interesting modern ballad. Valeria would be a great choice for Oslo. I also like the songs by Putin Tatiana the duet " Forever " by Corina and Denis plus the song by the guy who looks like Marija Serifovic ( Eugen Doibani ) seems not bad either 
The most famous participants seem to be Olia and the Sun Stroke Projekt but Iam not sure about thier entries. The best Olia song is " One life " but I might not qualify in Oslo.
I wanna see the Lady GAGA song by Akord on stage....that could be interesting.
Milleniums entry is nice but pretty harless. Unless they are delivering a big show - which could be difficult - they won't have much chances in Oslo too.
They have such a variety of songs this year in Moldova. I wonder which songs will be kept as finalists. I would vote for Olia Tira with any of her songs, Sun Stroke Project, Ionel Strati with both his songs, Boris Covali, Alexandru Manciu and AKORD.
Elena Buga has been added to TRM website with the song "Angel of night." It's not good...
Irina Tarasiuc(with a song about her mother) and Millenium are the best!!!!!!!!!!! I've heard all the songs in national final from Belarus,Finland,Albania,Poland and almost all from Malta,first 5 from Iceland and first 7 from Norway and the Dutch entry(minus the singer that will be chosen). The quality of the songs in the Moldovan final is on other league. Good luck Moldova from Iceland

Yes, sort of. But Cipela last year was different (and OT Bend would have been too) and 2006 I think Flamingosi would have been great.

You mean like we, all ppl say that we send only so call "Balkan ballads", but I'm not very happy about that fact!

No, they probably won't. But I only wrote that comment from my point of view. And because I have not filed Donita under my top favourites doesn't mean that I would not be happy if she wins the preselection. And maybe sending similar songs and thus creating or establishing a certain image of the country mustn't be a bad thing.
