Sochi 2014 official presentation
Alexander Rybak performs in the Red Square
Alexander won the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow last May representing Norway. He has gained much fame and recognition in Russia, where he was invited to perform at the special presentation ceremony of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics brand. Never before has a Eurovision winning entry had such a massive impact in Russia like Alexander's Fairytale. The song has been recorded in Russian under the title of Skazka.

Actually, skater is Alexey Yagudin, olympic champion (2002)
Pity, they showed more of him than Alexander.
Good luck to Sochi in hosting the Olympics soon
Yeah, and that's good for both us and him
We do not get an overkill of AR, and he has other markets and countries to work in.
I have a feeling he is more popular in Russia and Belarus than in Norway
I like this a lot. In the old days Eurovision winners were quickly translated into English and usually covered by local artists in the local languages around Europe. Now the original is in English and gets translated into Russian! It shows how Europe has changed over the years. I like it; I think Russian is a far more beautiful language than English.
Great performance even if it's not live.
I always liked those colours on the stage. The ice skater is cool and good too.
