Harel Skaat officially confirmed as Israeli representative
Yoav Ginai, head of entertainmet at IBA and IBA CEO Mordechai Shkaler have announced this morning at the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, that Reshet operator of Channel 2 has been chosen to produce the Kdam Eurovision show, and therefore the Israeli representative for Eurovision 2010 will be Harel Skaat.
The singer's management has welcomed the appointment: "We are very happy with the IBA decision, and excited to represent Israel in the 2010 Eurovision competition. Right now we are embarking on a search for songs and beginning to work on the pre-Eurovision Kdam broadcast. We will do everything we can to bring honour to Israel and Europe", a statement claims.
This confirms the rumours appearing some days ago on several Israeli media, including the English version of the Israeli public broadcasting channel IBA website, claiming Harel Skaat to be the Israeli representative in Oslo.

Ron Lerner, please lighten up. Hey, it's a big party where many European countries meet to sing their hearts out and publicize themselves. Of course most of the times the best songs are overlooked, especially since the televote began, but we get to know different talents. Eurovision is the oldest TV show around.
Changing the subject, there's nothing cheap about dance, on the contrary. "Sake it, shake it" was just a bad strip tease number.
where did I say esc is about quality or that skaat is a quality artist? everything is subjective. and in my humble opinion shake it was cheap!
Sorry to intervene, but most Eurovision songs/presentations are cheap thus popular with the impressionable viewer. The quality ones are usually overlooked and are only appreciated in retrospect or after several years/decades. It's a myth to suggest that Eurovision is about quality: It's about ego, greed, extravagenza, dirt, sensuality, sexuality, politics, basic nationalistic urges etc... that's why millions are fascinated with it because it's like a modern day Gladiators arena where everybody wants to make a profit out of it and the rest take it with a pinch of salt. You can really enjoy it only if you understand the cynical rational behind it these days, otherwise you're barking up the wrong tree.

But dancing or do a show does not make any artist cheap...

Harel skaat is great singer, wonderful and so nice person, he got very very good voice and he is a great performer... He is not cheap ..I can't see him dance on the stage...but I know that many will love him ..I'm sure about that, you'll see all!

If he gets a good song like Fire In Your Eyes and has a voice like big Boaz though could be an interesting choice..
