Third Eurovision Dance Contest postponed
The European Broadcasting Union aim to organise a new format to make a more attractive and financially more sustainable production next year, planning to reach larger number of broadcasters. The Eurovision Dance Contest is planned to be organised in Azerbaijan in the autumn of 2010.
Despite the decision to postpone the event, the EBU is optimistic about the future of the Eurovision Family of events' most recently added member. "Following the commendable work on the next Eurovision Dance Contest already completed by our partners Ictimai Television and the Azerbaijani officials, we have jointly concluded that it is in the best interest of the event to postpone to next year, and therefore, concrete plans for a 2010 autumn event are now being developed, with considerable changes to introduce a new programme proposal," said Tal Barnea, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Dance Contest on behalf of the EBU.

I am swiss , residing in Zurich and I do not use fake IDs or names, unlike you turks all over Europe pretending to be scandinavians or whatever wannabees, I dont have any problems with Azwerbaijan or Turkey. They were indeed years when I voted for Turkey. I also liked Turkey's 1997 entry with 3rd place. I dont remember the name of the singer. But I still find this year's Hadise and Arash's performances as awful. out of tune and not professional. And I dont like when you and your co patriots bash Armenians for no reason. You prove that you are low life people. Your campagn against Armenians were negative since the beginning. As a matter of fact they had a great entry, very nice and powerful voices and nice ethnic elements in their entry. Arash was out of tune and Hadise didnt even know how to sing. So please shut up and stop bashing the others. I know history very well. I know what kind of animousity you turks have against christian Armenians. I am not going to tolerate this kind fo stupid politically biased behavior. If you have money, they spend it in a proper way, instead of doing cheap PR on Eurovision portals.

Yeah Martin, without BBC Azerbaijan will not be able to make a big fuss from nothing. They really need a big publicity to show the rest of Europe that there is a country named Azerbaijan. Thats why they are ready so spend millions of oilbucks to participate or host Eurovision contests.
The Eurovision DAnce Contest was effectively invented by the BBC - who hosted it for the first two years in the UK.
Its unlikely the BBC would promote a contest held in Azerbaijan.
A lesson for the EBU here - be nice to the BBC as they bankroll the show!
A very good idea. Nobody likes EDC, it is not popular at all. I feel sorry for Azerbaijan. They were dreaming of hosting that stupid show. I guess nobody else wanted to host this kind of boring event. If ESC goes the way as it does now, we will witness the same situation with the song contest as well. The best countries will withdraw and the only 2 countries of Azerbaijan and Turkey will take part and award each other 12 points, so both of them will be the winners.
