I certainly won't go to Russia and think Dima bought the Eurovision, but Terry Wogan is directly responsible for the UK's failure...he saved that horrible song in the UK's weird preselection process. If the other one went The UK would have been second last instead of joint last ;)

Russia's DIMA will go into ESC history as the first ever winner
to be BOOED(!!!) on stage, while accepting his trophy AND during his encore performance and that must mean something, because I (like many here) ...believe that
the WRONG SONG won!!!

Why they not invite Isis from Poland and Maria from Norway again? :(

Mark Carandang:

According to the Swedish website "Gylleneskor" Believe was written and produced by Jim Beanz, not Timbaland.

Was "Believe" really co-written by Timbaland? In the finals, they credited Dima Bilan and Jim Beanz as songwriters.

If there's any REAL Timbaland collaborator in this year's Eurovision, it would be Mira Craig, songwriter for Norway's Hold On Be Strong. She has worked with Timbaland on several occassions.

@ marc x - I couldn't agree with you more - he is the most over rated diva ever to grace the eurovision stage - I can't stand him!

I went to the preview show in Scala, but even if they would give me a ticket for free, I would not go. I can not stand that Russian Diva, so overrated.... For me one of the worst winners ever, so undeserved. All those 12 from neighbours, diaspora (Israel) etc... Thanks but no thanks. And even more, I won't go to Moscow or wherever they want to orginise the next Eastern European Circus as I can not stand that Russian "we are better than the rest of us" feeling... For me winner of 2008 are Norway and Portugal. Sent us Varna and I will pay with pleasure 12 pounds....

WHY DOESN'T TERRY WOGAN JUST GO AWAY AND LEAVE EUROVISION WELL ALONE, BECAUSE HE EARNS TO MUCH FROM IT . WOULD YOU LEAVE A GOOD PAYED JOB IF YOU WERE IN HIS SHOES ,

@ simon clifford
absolutely right , wogan seems to thing its the wogan show when he presents eurovision. he repeats the same jingoistic "jokes" evry year and never gives us any facts. did he even point out that charlotte was a former winner? i dont think he did.

panayiotis nikolaou:

On the contrary, the UK had a good song this year which deserved to fare much better.
The Russian song wasn't that special to me. I think people voted for the whole concept; Dima's eccentric performance, the ice skater and the violinist. It was a great show. Well done Russia :)

To Garry chelsea..Terry Wogan, has made Eurovision a joke in the UK. Thats stopped respectale artists wanting to take part, and thats what give us bad results.

i think sweden faces same destiny as UK and should withdraw before its too late.....something must be wrong when same countries ends always in the bottom while others are always in top....my opinion is that Dima Bilan shouldnt even been in top 10 the songs is really bad....countries like germany and uk throws money for the competition.....while countries like russia put all their money on the entry....i didint think that u can buy yourself a victory in ESC but it seems like it possible...for russia at least...

@ panayiotis nikolaou

Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Latvia, Lithuania. Latvia, Estonia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Moldova thats a bit more than 5 countries... these are all former USSR countries.. and they all participated in the voting!!!!!!!.

'Thanks to San Mario...' needs to stop speaking for other UK fans on this site. Dima did a good a job, not my favourite, but don't take that away from him. It’s not his fault!

The only person to blame for the UK's bad results is Terry Wogan and his rude, racist, primitive and belittling comments toward anyone who isn't Western European. The BBC need to get rid of him once and for all and stop blaming Eastern Europe. It’s an embarrassment!

@ panayiotis

I "believe" ;) that the ESC 2008 BELGRADE was a great SHOW,
because it (inadvertently) gave ... a triple(!!!) win to GREECE :)
and I do not only mean by winning third place.

Thank you, U.K. for the 12 points to Greece!!!!

THANK YOU, EUROPE!!!

1. Russia - this entry's choreographer/director was
a (fickle!) GREEK man, Fokas Evangelinos (6)
(For those who do not know it, he was
the one "behind" Greece's ESC 2005 victory
with Helena Paparizou, as well as the opening
show and all acts of both the Semifinal and Final
of the ESC 2006 ATHENS)

( "Can you see it, can you see it? ...)

2. Ukraine - this entry's choreographer/director was
a ("shady" ;)) GREEK man, Fokas Evangelinos (6)
which is why an AVERAGE song looked good
(For those who do not know it, he was
the one "behind" Greece's ESC 2005 victory
with Helena Paparizou, as well as the opening
show and all acts of both the Semifinal and Final
of the ESC 2006 ATHENS)

( "Can you feel it, can you feel it? ...)

3. GREECE - the TRUE winner :) (fair and square)

( In BOTH Semifinals, the voting was ... "Secret"
and the FAVOURABLE ... "Combination" of results
placed Greece's great SONG with KALOMIRA (L) ... No. 1 ...
due to her SLEEK, SEXY and ENERGETIC PERFORMANCE
backed by her AMAZING team so SUCCESSFULLY ... )
and WITHOUT her "needing" any help from that
(backstabbing) GREEK, Fokas Evangelinos (6),
I might add!!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS, GREECE!!

Maybe get the 1st vote FOR FREE (!), and 2nd, 3rd... for 2 euros or something?

for goodness sake,it's not dimas' fault because he won the contest, whats the point of u to hate him?uk should shut upo cz this year it sent a crap and last place was ideal for it,germany is the one who has to complain,u sent a crap u got what u deserved!

russian song was by far better than yours, like it or not is the winner and plz don't say the same strory bloc voting etc...36 out of 42 countries voted for him, former ussr countries are just 5!those 5 countries even with their 12 pts can't determine the winner, common sense, simple maths!
