Rescheduled for 19:00

Poland: Staging issues postponed press conference

The Polish press conference scheduled to be the first of the day will now take place at 19:00 this evening after the Polish representatives were delayed following their first technical rehearsal. Problems with the stage background and sound adjustments were to blame.

Isis Gee was roundly applauded by the media and fans for a strong rehearsal this morning, but it appears there were technical issues to be resolved behind the scenes. esctoday.com contacted the Polish delegation to find out why the press conference was delayed.

A Spokesperson for the Polish delegation said "I am sorry for the fans and media who came early after the Euroclub opened last night. We had some small issues that we had to go through with the stage manager, and unfortunately, we missed the press conference slot. Rather than delay the following press conferences, it was decided that it would be best to reschedule for this evening".

So far, the technical rehearsals have run very smoothly, however it is often the case that artists or delegations request changes to the backing visuals, lighting and stage positioning as well as camera work. There are only two technical rehearsals, and any major changes need to be made between them. No further changes can be made after the technical rehearsals are complete.

I don't know why but I have the feeling that Poland could end top 5 in the final. There's a Edyta Gornyak touch in this song and if the performance is as strong as they say I think Isis could be this year's biggest surprise.

This song is much better through the live performance. I also think Hungary with Candlelight is a dark horse.....basically its Mariah Carey verus Barbara Streisand....although Serbia, Bosnia or Ireland will battle it out....

Poland for final!

It's not the best song but they definitely deserve a final spot!

Out of all the "old-fashion" ballads (Hungary, Romania are also in this category), this one is the best and most enjoyable. Romania is a little over-performed and Hungary is just boring. But that is just my opinion.

Also in a semi-final with alot many gimmick and wierdo acts (Estonia, Ireland, Azerbaijan & Bosnia & Herzegovina.. maybe also Belgium can be counted to this group), then definitely Poland should be in the top.10!

I hope that diaspora won't determ the outcome though. Poland doesn't have many "neighbour friends" in this group and Polish diaspora aren't as extreme nationalistic voting as many others.

Yes, I'm Pole, but it's one of most greatest songs from this Eurovision. :) Poland should go to final I think.
