ESCToday in collaboration with Vienna Tourist Board (Wien.info) will be bringing you a series of articles leading up to the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in order to showcase and introduce the 2015 Eurovision host city Vienna to our readers. Today we will have a look at some special sighteeing tours that have been prepared for the 2015 Eurovision accredited press and media.

ORF, the Austrian national broadcaster in collaboration with Wien Tourismus has compiled and assembled a series of free sightseeing tours for the accredited media and journalists who will be in Vienna during the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.

It all won’t be  hard work and no play for the accredited media who will visit Vienna come May, as a special social program has been arranged for their leisure. Journalists will be able to discover the beauty of the magnificent Austrian capital city and enjoy the sights and sounds of Wien!

Vienna is all set to pamper the delegations, artists, accredited media, Eurovision fans and visitors attending the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest. Thousands of Eurovision fans, tourists, journalists are expected to land in the Eurovision 2015 host city to attend the annual musical extravaganza.

Building Bridges- Classics & Curiosities

The Prater, the Spanish Riding School, or the Schönbrunn Palace – these classics will be on the program just as much as special tours and day-trips that will be compiled in exclusive packages for the accredited media:

Journalists will be abe to experience a singular cruise on the Danube or an excursion to the exceptionally beautiful Wachau. They will be able to discover the intricate alleyways and their fascinating history in the historic center of Vienna, the intercultural markets or the UNO City with a guided tour.

An extensive visit to the traditional Heurige with Viennese wine shouldn’t be missed and those who want to walk in the footsteps of the Third Man will surely find themselves in the catacombs of the Austrian capital.

Building Bridges- Creative & Cultural Highlights

The media will be shown the Creative Vienna as well as the emotional Jewish history of the Austrian capital city. Vienna has a rich culture, fitting all tastes . ORF and Wien Tourismus have worked tirelessly to secure complimentary tickets the accredited press in order to experience the following events : Cosi fan tutte, Die Fledermaus or La Bohème live in the Vienna Volksoper, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in the Viennese Konzerthaus or the musicals Mamma Mia and Mary Poppins by the United Stages Vienna.

These are only a few of the numerous proposals that  ORF and Wien Tourismus have compiled for the accredited media in order to make their stay in Vienna an unforgettable experience.
