Finland choosing 12 acts – ticket sales announced

Tickets will go on sale for the Finnish national final on 5 November. Members of OGAE Finland have already been given a chance to buy theirs in a pre-sale for 25 and 30 Euro. The second running of Uuden musiikin kilpailu UMK (Contest for new music) will start after Christmas and some or all of the 12 acts selected will battle it out on the Barona Arena in Espoo on 9 February 2013.

The ticket site also reveals that the UMK shows will start on YLE TV2 on Thursdays, starting 27 December 2012.

As some artists who submitted songs to UMK have already received information that they were not selected, it is likely that YLE has already chosen all or some of the 12 acts that will be in the running for the ticket for Malmö. Unlike the very public and long-winded process of last year, YLE has clearly wanted to let the team get on with their work without all details being made public.

YLE has promised to announce the names of the selected acts in December.
