It looks like the possible duet between Lena Philipsson and Orup will not enter Melodifestivalen 2008.
There had been discussions and the pair had kept openings in their show schedule for first semi-final, second chance and final. But now it seems that they will not participate in 2008.

Both stars have had great success in Melodifestivalen before, Lena has four entires, including a winner that have become Schalger classics: Kärleken är evig, Dansa i neon, Om igen and 2004 winner Det gör ont. Orup did a duet with Anders Glenmark in the song Upp over mina öron and as songwriter for Lena 2004.

Their cooperation has been very successful with two top selling albums and many hits. In the beginning of 2007 they took the working relation one step further when they put up a show together in Stockholm called Lena + Orup. The show has been highly successful and will move to Goteborg after New Year. Lena and Orup had openings in their show schedule, 9th February, 8th March and 15th of March for first semi final, second chance and the final. "We hold those weeks open in case an enquiry should come", Lena's manager My Strφback confirmed to Aftonbladet. However, tickets released for these dates, confirming that they will not compete.

New speculations in tabloid Aftonbladet is Amy Diamond and a duet between Idol participants Agnes Carlsson (who was set to enter Melodifestivalen 2007 before her entry was disqualified) and Måns Zelmerlöw (who finished 3rd with Cara Mia after the song replaced Agnes' disqualified entry in the qualifiers). The Idol team just release a cover of Mariah Carey's classic hit All I wants for Christmas.
